ArcNews is a quarterly publication put out by ESRI. It is written for ESRI users and others interested in mapping and GIS technology.
The Delaware Geospatial Technology (DelGeotech) Group consists of individuals interested in exploring and sharing innovative geospatial technologies.
Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) is one of the leading designers/developers of GIS technology. In addition to providing information regarding ESRI products and services, their web site is an excellent resource for GIS-related news, training information, events, etc. It also includes descriptions of GIS applications for a varietiy of industries, including Conservation, Sustainable Development, Natural Resources, Engineering, etc. ESRI also publishes newsletters pertaining to GIS and its applications to various industries. A relevant example is the Environmental Observer.
ESRI’s non-profit arm, the ESRI Conservation Program helps create and develop spatial analysis, computer mapping and GIS capability among thousands of non-profit organizations and individual projects of all sizes and types worldwide. They do this by donating and providing millions of dollars worth of computer technology and training for groups just beginning to work on geographic problems, on an ongoing basis, and for advanced groups at the cutting edge of conservation biology and spatial sciences. Their web site includes a master bibliography of research papers in conservation geography. It also includes:
-a list of free, online or other conservation data
-a list of U.S. government agency sites of interest for conservation geography, mapping and GIS.
The Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) is an interagency committee that promotes the coordinated development, use, sharing, and dissemination of geospatial data on a national basis. This nationwide data publishing effort is known as the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI)

National Center for Geographic Information and Analysis (NCGIA). A center funded by the National Science Foundation that is jointly headquartered at the University of California, Santa Barbara, the University of Maine, Orono, and the State University of New York at Buffalo. The Center encourages the development of quality GIS education programs in universities in the United States and worldwide. It developed a core curriculum; a set of teaching materials for a three-course sequence in GIS. It also sponsors workshops, seminars, and meetings and produces technical publications related to GIS.
NatureServe is a non-profit conservation organization whose mission is to provide the scientific basis for effective conservation action. NatureServe and its network of natural heritage programs are the leading source for information about rare and endangered species and threatened ecosystems.
