Purpose

  • To provide opportunity to historically underrepresented groups to explore the variety of disciplines involved in ecological stewardship and restoration consulting. 
  • To receive mentorship from experts within the field. 
  • To gain experience by contributing directly to project work and teams. 
  • To provide a connection to a larger network of partners and potential employers. ​ 

The program prioritizes candidates from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACUs), and Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs). Our interns have included graduate and undergraduate students in programs such as environmental science and engineering, landscape architecture, planning, and economics. The program encourages interdisciplinary exploration and provides applied industry experience to support them on their career journeys.   

October (of current year): Applications officially open for the following year’s internship program 

January: Applications officially close on January 31 for that year’s internship program.

February: Interviews occur in the first three weeks of February.

Responses to applications are sent out via email after the interview process is completed.
