Todd is originally from:
Lakewood, WA.
Favorite animal:
My favorite animal is a yellowfin tuna. As both a fish biologist and an avid angler, yellowfin tuna provide me with some of the best memories I have being in the outdoors. An amazing creature that sits near the top of an ocean food web that is truly amazing to see up close. I’ve had the opportunity to see this food web in action in the Pacific off the coast of Baja California and it’s a memory I will never forget.
Favorite thing to do when not working:
Would it surprise you for me to say…go fishing!
Role Model:
My brother, Rob. He is my best friend and confidant. Rob is 6 years older than me and has had a successful career that recently transitioned from the candy (chocolate) industry to global fair trade. He plays golf at least once a week, but he still can’t beat me when we tee it up.
Childhood career ambition:
Funny…a fish biologist/game warden. Then, I realized how dangerous it is to be a game warden, so I chose the safer field of fisheries.
Favorite book:
Lord of the Rings.
Music that instantly puts Todd in a good mood:
Jazz.
If Todd could have a super power, it would be:
I just want to be Captain America! I’m not sure what his superpower is, but he’s pretty cool!
Pets:
I have two black labs (Bow and Bella) and one cat (Cooper). They help to keep me company when I am working from home. They are part of our family. At least they think they all are when they get up on the bed to sleep with us…two black labs and a small orange cat!
Special skill or talent:
Woodworking/carpentry – My dad was a contractor when I was young and then owned a hardware store where I learned about woodworking tools and carpentry skills.
Most memorable experience in nature:
Seeing the Grand Canyon with 12” of snow on the ground and clear, blue skies.
Favorite food:
Beef brisket.
